 a different approach to Entertainment...

We, at Brandy Library have a different understanding of entertainment than most bars. While we do not ask our patrons to respect a formal dress code, we expect from them to be respectful of others patrons, the staff and the beautiful environment. Therefore, and to guarantee a great time to all, we do not let them stand, nor gather as large groups, or even be loud at any time. We think that civilized drinking comes with the right attitude, and not necessarily the right outfit (obvious making out and hitting on other patrons are two examples of prohibited behaviors). Everybody is treated equally (celebrities don’t get bothered but are not over pampered either) and one must be at least 25 year-old to indulge at Brandy Library. As we do not like to overcrowd the venue, we always suggest to make a reservation ahead of time. It is very common to see a sign posted at the door: “sorry, we have reached capacity”.

The music we offer at Brandy Library is made of background standards jazz tunes, live piano on Mondays and live boss nova on Sundays. Even then, no dancing can be performed, for we do not hold a cabaret license. And no, the piano player will not play your favorite airs.

For those who like to enjoy Brandy Library as a large group, the lower level is available for private parties.

 In a few words, Brandy Library has been successful over the past four years because of the product niche we are in, but also because of all these house policies that remind people of how simple civilized drinking should be. In a world where high speed is the main currency, we aim at bringing that “out of time and place” touch. We understand we are not for everyone, but it seems to be the satisfaction of most.
